Attack of the Acoustic
I love regional accented acoustic shit and I still can’t get this annoying kid from Glasgow out of my head…
To a more refined production, the latest Maccabees is a bit more full-on and grown-up than their Latchmere/About Your Dress/Lego days…”No Kind Words”.
Fortunately when I saw them down at the O2 recently I bumped into Josh Weller outside and he had plenty of kind words for the Maccabees, as did I for his stuff…the latest of which you can see below, some sentiments I can relate to.
Josh was also involved in the excellent “Indie Ghetto” which saw many hot young indie things covering some classic hip hop tracks from back in the day. My personal favourite; Peggy Sue covering ‘All in my Grill” by Missy Elliott, this just works.
