I found myself at a suitably left-leaning houseparty on Friday night in De Beavoir Town (posh name for Dalston) and watched on in glee as a Boris Johnson effigy was burned. It turned out to be a pinaata rather than an out-and-out effigy but the results were satisfying all the same.

Our new mayor, let me show you him.
Well, Boris, aptly described by one of our commenters as a fat, blonde, tory skittle, has won London’s Mayoral election. Excitingly, for ‘downfall of civilisation’ bingo players at least, the BNP gianed a seat on the London Assembly. The Left List, regrettably, didn’t.
